Urban Summer Internship Overview and Online Application

We are now accepting applications for five college students to create an intentional, Christian, living and learning community. Interns will support the summer programs of Emmaus House through service work, and engage in opportunities for spiritual growth.

Work Areas: Summer interns will work in a variety of program areas including: a summer day camp for children ages K-5th grade, senior citizens program, art programs and in the Lokey Center (our walk in help center). One intern position will concentrate specifically on coordinating weekly service projects for youth groups who come to Emmaus House from all over the nation. One morning each week will be set aside for learning and reflection with the intern community.

Life Together: Interns will live together in an apartment on the Emmaus House Campus. The community created will be grounded in prayer, shared meals, and recreation. Through breaking bread together, exploringAtlanta together, and engaging together in the life of the Peoplestown neighborhood, interns will support one another through the joys and challenges of their summer of service.

Pay/Housing: A weekly stipend of $100 and free on-site housing. Note: Both male and female interns share the living space.

Internship Dates: The internship lasts from May 25- August 6. Orientation begins on Wednesday, May 25th at 9:00 am. Interns should plan to travel to Atlanta on the 24th. During the last week of the internship all interns and staff go to Camp Mikell (overnight camp in the North Georgia mountains) for the final week of our summer camp.
